Computerized Seat Reservation and Ticketing Project for Bangladesh Railway (CSRTP/BR)

This is the single most successful computerization of a large govt. operation in this country. Initiated in 1994, the CSRTP/BR has been executed by Technohaven Co from concept to system design, development and implementation by a team of in-house IT professionals headed by the CEO of the company. The CSRTP/BR is a reservation network spread over the eastern zone of Bangladesh Railway (BR), encompassing 28 major stations. The reservation wide-area-network rides on the nationwide digital fiber-optic telecom network owned by B.Railway. Technohaven provides full facilities management i.e. field supervision, operational support and maintenance to the project. Technohaven Co was responsible for the development, supply, installation, operation, maintenance and supervision of the entire system (until the ownership of the system transfers to BR). Technohaven Co is also responsible for training of all personnel involved in running the system.

The very first build-operate-and-transfer (BOT) scheme in the country, this project with a projected revenue steam of more than Taka Twenty Crore (USD Five Million), is one of the largest IT projects in the country.

Bangladesh Railway fully achieved the objectives under the project. Its inter-city passenger revenue has been increased by more than 60% since implementation of the CSRTP/BR.
